Thomas E. Destler, 67, of Edison, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at the CentraState Medical Center in Freehold. Mr. Destler was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Edward and Gloria Destler and had lived in Edison for most of his life.
Thomas was a realtor associate with Coldwell Banker in Metuchen for fourteen years.
He was a member of the St. Matthew the Apostle Church in Edison.
He is survived by his wife of thirty eight years: Karen Takacs Destler his son: Ryan T. Destler of Parlin, his two brothers: William Walsh of Manchester, and Edward Destler of Florida, his four sisters: Mary Peterson of Florida, Margaret Destler of Florida, Frances Arcuri of Staten Island, NY and Joan Destler of Colorado, his cousin Andrew Saloma, four nephews; Christopher, Matthew, Billy, and Michael and three nieces; Amy, Ellen and Laura.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday 8:45 am at the Mitruska Funeral Home, 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords. Followed by a 9:30 am mass in the St. Matthew the Apostle Church in Edison. Private cremation services will follow. Visitation hours will be held Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the funeral home.
