Antal Helyes, 85, of Wrightstown, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Aspen Hills Healthcare Center in Pemberton. Mr. Helyes was born in Rabaszentmihaly, Hungary to the late Antal and Gizella Helyes and came to the United States in 1957. He had previously lived in Old Bridge before he moved to Wrightstown two years ago. Mr. Helyes was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Antal was employed as a boiler mechanic by J.M. Huber Inc. Raritan Center in Edison, for ten years before retiring in 1992. He was a member of Magyar "Hungarian" Reformed Church of Perth Amboy. Antal was predeceased by his beloved wife Magdolna in 2017, and also by his son Antal L. Helyes in 2008. Surviving are his daughter: Lisa Vasarhelyi and husband Laszlo of Wrightstown, his sister: Boris Sabo, and his four grandchildren; Maximus, Julia, Chelsea, and Emily. Funeral services will be held Thursday 10:00 am at the Mitruska Funeral Home, Inc., 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords. Entombment will follow in the Woodbridge Memorial Gardens in Woodbridge. Visitation hours will be held Wednesday from 4 -6 pm.
